Carousel Gardens, a small-scale amusement park with 18 old-fashioned rides, will delight everyone in the family. (Call ahead to make sure the park is open; it was closed on the day we visited). Or rent a bike, four-wheel vehicle (called surreys), boat, or a gondola at the Big Lake. We took a swan boat out for a spin and enjoyed the cool breeze off the water. The Sazerac House is just that- home of the Sazerac.

I’m not sure which one got me sick, but it was bad. It’s a shame because the food was delicious. Had the crab Cajun potatoes as an appetizer and the grilled chicken and panzanella salad and it was great! Our server ensured me he talked with the chef to make sure my food was safe.

Neither is off to a strong start this season, and they spoke of playing to win and racking up FedExCup points to improve their positions going into the summer. They had flown in around midday Tuesday, and in lieu of a practice round they played some chipping games together at TPC Louisiana, as kids will do. Granted, each is in his mid-thirties, with wives and kids of their own, careers and goals, insurance policies and pension plans. They’re not the same carefree teenagers who played for Ireland in ’07.
Will definitely be coming back whenever we return to New Orleans. There was no separate menu and the waiter wasn’t very knowledgeable, but he was very friendly and made sure with the kitchen. Celebrate them by having a glass of bourbon out on their courtyard. McIlroy and Lowry, who opened Thursday with a best-ball 61, overcame Lowry’s mid-round putting woes to close with consecutive birdies. Lowry missed two short birdie putts and a makeable par putt.

I went to this restaurant as part of a work event. They were helpful in checking the menu options ahead of time for me, and I never felt sick afterwards. Minus a star for no celiac-friendly dessert options. Technically, the party can be wherever you want it to be in New Orleans, but for the sake of brevity, the best place to find live music in the city would be anywhere on Frenchman Street.
While the excitement of the annual parade might be overwhelming for smaller children, kids of all ages (and adults) will love getting a close-up look at magnificent Mardi Gras floats stored in this enormous building. Self-guided tours at Mardi Gras World are available seven days a week. In addition to old and new creations, you might even get to see artists at work. This fun, interactive, hands-on children’s museum has activities for all ages (children 12 months and under are free), but it is ideal for kids under 10.
Their skilled bartenders elevate this neighborhood bar and make your visit a night of classic drinking and great spirits. The teams of Davis Thompson-Andrew Novak, Ryan Brehm-Mark Hubbard and Aaron Rai-David Lipsky matched McIlroy and Lowry at 13-under 131 at TPC Louisiana. They will play best ball Saturday and close with alternate shot Sunday. “Shane's been one of my biggest advocates,” McIlroy told the Irish Independent last fall. “He's a great person to be around, and a really good influence on me. There’s parts of (Lowry) that I really love; I see how he lives his life; I see how he is with his girls, and the relationships he has with the people from home that are still close to him.
Rai and Lipsky held a one-shot lead heading into the 18th hole when Lipsky hit a wild hook that landed out of play. Lipsky was able to make a bogey putt that helped the team retain a share of the lead. AVONDALE, La. (AP) — Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry held onto a share of the lead Friday in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, with the Irish duo shooting a 2-under 70 in alternate play in the PGA Tour’s only team event. Perhaps taking a page from Lowry, McIlroy said Wednesday that he, too, would be enjoying his life, partaking of all New Orleans has to offer this week, even if only in moderation. But now they’re here – the Irish in New Orleans.
